"Your Neighbor That Lives In The Pinery"©

This is a hole in dry wall approximately one square foot © The hole in this dry wall is very typical for those who have pets in their homes. Wall board is not inherently strong.

If you have children that drive golf balls in the basement; neighbor kids that throw your childrens' toys around; a mean old man that stumbles drunkly into your walls, or a wife that throws lamps and other projectiles at you.....then holes in drywall will occur.

There is a simple law of drywall - "Dry wall is not strong. Dry Wall was made to hold texture and paint".

Once the holes are in your walls, they are about as attractive as body odor. You can only hang so many pictures over them, or move so much furniture in front of them. Drywall was not made to hold pictures.

This hole in the Dry Wall measures approximately one square foot. It was caused by a vicious, slobbering, frothing dog that gnawed the drywall and drywall screws in the stud. It also scratched its claws into the wall.
To fix a hole in wallboard, you have to make a hole to remove the hole.© "To Fix a hole in wall board, you must make a hole to remove the hole. Once both holes are removed, then you can repair one hole, which will fix both holes. This generally applies to holes over 4-6 inches square, however, this is not always the rule."

Dry wall is weak, so call in the reinforcements.© Reinforcements keep the drywall patch's integrity in tact.
Sheet Rock dust on floor..
Sealing off the cave.© This picture is really pretty self-explanatory - Rectangular peg in a rectangular hole.
A much better shot of that sheetrock dust!
Taping up the perimeter.© Drywall taping up the perimeter!
Fiberglass tape - "Porous as the Pakistan Border!"
Mudding up the hole.© Mudding up the hole is probably one of the most exciting parts of any sheet rock hole repair project.

There are all different kinds of mud. The type that you choose depends upon how fast you can move. 20, 45 and 90 minute mud mean just what they say...that is how long you have to work with them before they are unworkable anymore.

Only experience can help you determine which one is the best for you.

The Colorado Handyman™ is an expert at patching holes in your home.

The end result - The patched area will look like the rest of the wall. The patch is invisible.

Completed and textured dry wall hole repair©

This dry wall repair is now completed (except for the paint).

I took the picture while everything (mud and texture material) were still wet so you could see what I have done.

It is perfectly smooth, underneath, and textured perfectly to match the existing texture on the wall.

You could NEVER find where the hole was in the wall.
